JHARHAND and TRIBAL CHURCH PLANTING
Last December, Brother Paul made a trip to the State of Jharhand in India. You can see its relationship to Odisha (in blue) and then Tamil Nadu in the south on the map below. He went there to meet with a Brother who is interested in joining the CGBCIndia Fellowship and is planting churches among the tribal peoples of that area. His name is Simon Senon. Simon is a graduate of Good Shepherd Bible College and is married with 2 children. His son is not in the picture because he was in school the day that Brother Paul visited them.
Lord willing, he will be joining us in May when our team is in Coimbatore for the bi-annual CGBCIndia Conference. At that time, we will have the opportunity to interview him and learn more about his ministry and goals. Currently, he is doing personal evangelism, visiting home and doing some open air preaching. However, this is becoming harder because the government is opposing any evangelization of Hindus. He is working with another man by the name of Guruu Charan Batayil and they have started 3 churches among the tribal peoples in 3 locations:
KADAMDIN- 4 families ( 8km away)
SURUDHA- 4 families
DHOLAPEDA- 5 families( Near Odisha)
Pray that the Lord will strengthen this brother and give us wisdom to know how we should proceed with his request to join with us.
We will also make some visits to potential tribal groups in Tamil Nadu when we are there in May so please pray for the Lord’s guidance in this area. Brother Paul and PK Moses have already had contact with some of these tribal peoples so we want to follow-up with them in order to make informed, wise decisions on how to proceed in the church planting efforts among them.
