Prayer Requests : 9/29/14

Brother Paul sent an e-mail with the following prayer requests:

  • Pray for David Hanu. He has been suffering from diarrhea for a week and is now undergoing medical treatment.
  • Pray for us to have rain. We are facing acute water shortages at both Agape Home and also at Torbay House. This drought has affected our crops and farming also.
  • Paul is still undergoing therapy for his left hand because of his diabetes. Please pray that he can have use of his left hand.

Pray also for the upcoming trip to India April 30-May 12, 2015. Pray that all can be accomplished in a God-honoring way in this short time. We need to revise our written plan and also to come back with a self-support plan for the church planters.

Update on the Ministry in India : September 2014

All three areas of the state of Odisha saw people come to Christ this summer.  In Semla, where Brother Nehemiah is leading the team, 5 new believers were baptized.  In Umarkote, where Brother Joseph is leading the team, 3 new believers were baptized. In Golamunda, where Brother Peter is leading the team, they have seen a great influx of children. They are doing their best to accommodate a growing number of people especially children.

Of course, things have not progressed without obstacles. The rainy weather has brought disrepair to their houses where the churches meet. There are also health issues which many are dealing with.  Lastly, there is always the cloud of possible persecution by the hands of Hindu activists.  Please continue to pray for them and for the Lord to continue to build his church.

Sept. 2014 Update2

Semla team with their wives and children.

Brother Paul reports that they continue to distribute tracts in Coimbatore.  In Cholapuram, they also have many children attending as you can see in the picture below. In Pondicherry, they continue to distribute tracts and have open air Gospel preaching. Pray for those who are listening to be saved.  In Kandiyaperi, Brother Philip has a new children’s ministry in a Hindu dominated village, yet about 50 children are coming and he is sharing the Gospel with the parents on a house-by-house basis.  Pray for fruit; the salavation of families and the beginning of a church.

Sept 2014 Update1

Pastor Steve Burns says that we are $4,000 behind in our support goal for the church planters for this quarter. We want to send the funds Oct. 1st. We also have 7 children who don’t have sponsors yet.  See their pictures below.  If you are interested in being part of the Konnect with the Kids Ministry, the first transfer of $20 per child for their Christmas Gift is due September 18th.
